The special effects and grading were worked on a FLAME by Gary Brown at MUNKY who exported as DPX files for Digital Film Lab in Copenhagen. These were imported into an inferno, exported to the Arri Lazer and recorded at 2k resolution on to 35mm digital negative. The Dolby Digital sound was mixed at Twickenham Film Studios. “Can You Hear Me” was shot on HDV on location in East London.

Deva is being mentored by Gurinder Chadha until March 2007, on the Guiding Lights scheme, sponsored by Skillset, UK Film Council, Screen International, Pathe and BAFTA. Deva is working on a potent slate of feature films; AUTOROUTE DAMOUR selected for the Screen England pitching competition at Cannes 2004 and two horrors THE BOOK and BABY. In 2004 Deva worked on her drama series, RACE with script editor Ali Hope on the BBC Scotland Writer’s Initiative. Deva has written and directed over thirteen dramas and documentaries and these have screened in Edinburgh; London at The ICA, The Lux, The Curzon Soho and the Odeon West End; in New York at the Knitting Factory; Chicago and AFI Fest in LA; Ireland; Canada; Barcelona; Italy; France; Turkey; Abu Dhabi, UAE and Shanghai.

2003/04 - FISHY - Silver Plaque at Chicago International Film Festival. Joint runner-up BBC New Filmmakers award, Second Place at Raindance East Film Festival. Stuart Mackay Best Sound Editor at Broadcast Young Talent Awards. London Production Fund Award. Awarded a Print Grant by the British Council.
2002 - Selected by the British Council PLAIN HUNGER
1996 - With a William and Eva Fox Fellowship, spent the Summer in New York at Tisch School of the Arts for the Intermediate Film Program with Prof. Bardosh making VANESSA.
1983/ 86 - Trained as an actress at Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a BP Scholarship.
